Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, reported a strong rise in production for July 2026, with total output increasing 33% year-on-year to 2,48,845 units, compared with 1,87,073 units produced in July 2025.
The growth was driven by robust production across passenger vehicles, particularly the utility vehicle segment.
Passenger Vehicle Production Crosses 2.44 Lakh Units
Total passenger vehicle production stood at 2,44,445 units in July 2026, up from 1,83,285 units in the corresponding month last year.
Passenger cars accounted for 1,27,031 units, while utility vehicles contributed 1,02,787 units, highlighting continued focus on SUVs and multi-utility vehicles.
Utility Vehicle Production Climbs 46%
Maruti Suzuki produced 1,02,787 utility vehicles during July 2026, registering a sharp increase from 70,241 units a year earlier.
The utility vehicle portfolio includes models such as Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Jimny, Victoris, XL6, along with OEM models.
Compact Car Production Remains Strong
Production in the compact passenger car segment, comprising Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR and OEM models, increased to 1,13,067 units from 87,950 units in July 2025.
Meanwhile, production of the mini car segment, including Alto and S-Presso, rose to 13,964 units, compared with 11,484 units in the year-ago period.
Van and Commercial Vehicle Output Improves
Production of the Eeco van increased to 14,627 units from 13,610 units in July last year.
The company also produced 4,400 Super Carry light commercial vehicles during the month, up from 3,788 units in July 2025.
