Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) announced a major leadership change with the appointment of Shri Manoj Kumar Das, IAS as Chairman and Director of the company. The appointment was made by the Government of Gujarat’s Energy & Petrochemicals Department through an official order dated November 1, 2025.
Shri Das succeeds Shri Pankaj Joshi, IAS (Retd.), as Chairman of GNFC, as per the powers vested under Article 134 of the Company’s Articles of Association. The formal communication regarding this appointment was received by GNFC on November 1, 2025.
The company will now proceed with the statutory formalities to induct Shri Das into the Board, following approvals from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors, and shareholders.
GNFC confirmed that Shri Manoj Kumar Das is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority, including SEBI.
About Shri Manoj Kumar Das, IAS
Shri Das is a 1990-batch IAS officer and currently serves as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Gujarat. He holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur and has extensive administrative experience in urban management, law and order, disaster management, and industrial development.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several key positions, including:
- Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Gujarat
- District Collector of Porbandar, Surat, and Palanpur
- Municipal Commissioner of Surat and Vadodara
- Principal Secretary, Industries & Mines Department
- Joint Managing Director, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC)
- Director, Gujarat State Petronet Limited, GSPC LNG Limited, and Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation Limited
His appointment marks a new chapter in GNFC’s leadership, expected to further strengthen the company’s governance and strategic direction.
