August 5: PB Fintech Ltd, the parent company of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar, reported a strong set of earnings for the June quarter (Q1 FY27), with consolidated net profit surging 92% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹163 crore, driven by robust growth in its insurance and lending businesses.
The company’s revenue from operations increased 40% YoY to ₹1,888 crore, compared with ₹1,348 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
However, on a sequential basis, both profit and revenue moderated. Net profit declined from ₹261 crore in Q4 FY26, while revenue eased from ₹2,061 crore.
Insurance Business Drives Growth
PB Fintech continued to benefit from strong demand for insurance products.
Key highlights:
- Total insurance premium: ₹8,372 crore, up 41% YoY
- Core online new protection business: up 53% YoY
- Core insurance revenue: ₹1,194 crore, up 46% YoY
The company attributed the growth to rising insurance awareness, improving financial literacy, and increasing demand for health and term insurance across India.
Lending Business Maintains Momentum
The company’s lending platform also delivered healthy performance.
- Total lending disbursals: ₹4,366 crore
- Core credit disbursals: ₹2,776 crore, up 33% YoY
- Lending revenue: ₹127 crore, up 25% YoY
This marked the fourth consecutive quarter of growth in the core credit business.
Policybazaar & Paisabazaar Expand Customer Base
Policybazaar continued to strengthen its market leadership:
- 158.9 million registered users
- 71.6 million insurance policies sold
- 28.1 million transacting customers
- Nearly 70,000 health insurance claims supported during the quarter with a 90%+ customer satisfaction score
Paisabazaar also reported steady growth:
- 60.6 million credit score users
- 7.8 million transacting customers
- 3.7 lakh annualised credit card issuances
New Business Initiatives Gain Traction
PB Fintech’s expansion initiatives continued to scale:
- PB Partners network crossed 5 lakh partners across nearly 19,000 pin codes
- UAE business turned profitable with nearly half of its portfolio coming from non-motor insurance
- Corporate insurance business now serves 21,000+ corporates and SMEs
