IDBI Bank has announced that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has approved the reclassification of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) as a “public shareholder” in the bank, contingent on the completion of the government’s strategic disinvestment process. A large wave of pre-listing shareholder lock-ins is set to expire in the coming quarter, potentially adding volatility to Indian equities. According to a report by Nuvama Institutional Equities, as many as 57 companies will witness their lock-ins being lifted between August 25 and November 27, 2025, releasing shares worth nearly USD 20 billion into circulation. Housing finance company Sammaan Capital (formerly Indiabulls Housing) has successfully raised $300 million (around ₹2,600 crore) through a three-year bond issuance to overseas investors at a coupon rate of 8.95%. Mumbai: Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey on Friday cautioned mutual funds to be prudent while investing in micro-cap companies and bespoke debt instruments, given the risks involved. An incident of cloudburst was reported late Friday night in Tharali tehsil of Chamoli district, leaving behind widespread destruction and at least two people missing, officials said. Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari confirmed heavy damage in the area. “There is a possibility of a lot of damage due to the cloudburst in Tharali.
