August 5: Alchemy Capital Management has acquired more than a 1% stake in Meenakshi India through an open market transaction, signaling institutional interest in the recently listed apparel manufacturer. The development came as PremjiInvest-linked funds trimmed their stake in Sapphire Foods India via separate bulk deals.
Following the transaction, Meenakshi India shares hit the 5% upper circuit at ₹396.65 on the BSE, extending their winning streak since the company’s stock market debut on July 28. Strong buying interest and heavy trading volumes continued to support the stock.
Alchemy Capital, a SEBI-registered portfolio manager and alternative investment fund manager, is known for investing in high-growth companies through a long-term, research-driven strategy.
In another notable bulk deal, PremjiInvest-backed funds reduced their holding in Sapphire Foods India, one of India’s leading quick-service restaurant operators.
The transactions highlight continued institutional activity in the secondary market as investors rebalance portfolios and identify opportunities across newly listed and established companies.
