Online social gaming company Zupee on Wednesday announced that it has achieved full compliance with the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, reaffirming its commitment to operating within India’s legal framework.
The company stated that it has already implemented all provisions outlined in the Act and will not challenge the law in courts. As part of compliance, Zupee has discontinued all paid game formats and stopped accepting new deposits. Existing users are being advised to withdraw their balances, which remain fully accessible.
Company Statement
“We fully respect the legislative process and remain committed to innovating within the framework of the law while collaborating with policymakers to shape India’s entertainment ecosystem,” said Dilsher Singh Malhi, Founder & CEO, Zupee.
Malhi emphasized that the Act presents an opportunity rather than a setback, adding:
“For Zupee, this is an opportunity to double down on what we have always stood for—building culturally rooted, social games that bring people together.”
Business Direction
- Zupee will focus on social and culturally inspired games tailored for India’s mobile-first audience.
- The company will continue expanding its portfolio, which already includes Ludo, Snakes & Ladders, and Trump Cards Mania.
- Since inception, Zupee has engaged 150 million+ users by reimagining traditional Indian games in digital formats.
Industry Context
The move follows India’s tightening regulations on real-money online gaming. Competitors like Dream11 (Dream Sports) have also confirmed compliance and halted real-money formats.
Zupee underlined that games are “more than entertainment—they are culture, connection, and community.” The company reaffirmed its long-term vision of combining India’s cultural heritage with technology to build an inclusive, innovative, and future-ready gaming ecosystem.
