Zomato announced on Sunday that the auditor for its subsidiaries, Zomato Hyperpure and Blink Commerce, has resigned, effective immediately. This move clears the path for Deloitte Haskins & Sells to be appointed as their replacement, aiming to streamline the audit process.
Batliboi & Associates, the statutory auditors for the two wholly-owned subsidiaries since April 1, 2023, until the conclusion of the 13th AGM, resigned as of May 12, 2024, according to Zomato’s regulatory filing.
The resignation came following discussions and correspondence indicating Zomato Limited’s desire to align the statutory auditor of the company with the auditors responsible for the consolidation accounts, aiming to minimize duplication and enhance efficiency in the group-level audit process, as stated by Batliboi & Associates.
In the regulatory filing, Zomato clarified that the resignation aims to facilitate the appointment of Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP, the current statutory auditor of the company, as the statutory auditor of Zomato Hyperpure Private Limited (ZHPL) and Blink Commerce Private Limited (BCPL) as well, to improve the efficiency of the audit process.
Zomato’s board is scheduled to convene on Monday to review and endorse the results for the fourth quarter and the financial year ending March 2024.
