Vikran Engineering Limited has won a major renewable energy contract worth ₹459.20 crore from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited for a 400 MW AC grid-connected solar power project in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh.
The company received the Notification of Award on December 24, 2025, for executing the Balance of System (BoS) package of the Chitrakoot-1 solar project. The contract will be executed over a period of 12 months and covers inland transportation, insurance, installation, testing, commissioning and guarantee tests to ensure full operational readiness of the project.
With this order, Vikran Engineering further strengthens its presence in the utility-scale solar EPC segment and reinforces its capabilities in executing large, time-bound renewable energy projects for leading public sector clients. The project will be implemented in accordance with NTPC Renewable Energy’s technical specifications, quality benchmarks and safety standards.
Commenting on the development, the company’s management said the order reflects strong confidence in Vikran Engineering’s execution track record and aligns with its strategy to expand its footprint in large-scale solar infrastructure while supporting India’s clean energy transition.
The Chitrakoot-1 project is expected to add significantly to India’s renewable energy capacity and contribute to the country’s long-term sustainability and decarbonisation goals.
