Tamil actor Daniel Balaji passed away from a heart attack at the age of 48 on Friday night, leaving fans, family, and colleagues in shock within the Tamil film industry.
Reports indicate that Daniel Balaji experienced chest pain yesterday, leading to his immediate hospitalization in Chennai’s Kottivakam. Despite efforts from medical professionals, he unfortunately did not survive.
Daniel Balaji’s body has been transported to his residence in Purasaiwalkam for final rites.
Beginning his career as a unit production manager in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Marudhunayagam’, Daniel Balaji ventured into television with a notable role in Radikaa Sarathkumar’s ‘Chithhi’. His portrayal of the character Daniel earned him the screen name Daniel Balaji.
Known for his antagonistic roles, Daniel Balaji delivered memorable performances in films like ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and ‘Vettaiyadu Vilayadu’. He appeared in several other popular films including ‘Yennai Arindhaal’, ‘Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada’, ‘Bairavaa’, ‘Vada Chennai’, and ‘Bigil’.
While predominantly active in Tamil cinema, Daniel Balaji also made appearances in Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films.
His last on-screen appearance was in the 2023 film ‘Ariyavan’.
