Sanofi India Limited on Monday announced the appointment of Deepak Arora as its new Managing Director, effective October 27, 2025. The decision, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, is subject to approval by the company’s shareholders and the Central Government, according to an exchange filing.
The appointment marks a key leadership transition for the pharmaceutical major as it seeks to strengthen its India operations and align its business priorities with Sanofi’s global strategic objectives.
At the same time, the company announced that Rachid Ayari has stepped down as Interim Managing Director, effective October 26, 2025. Ayari, who took charge as interim MD on July 21, 2025, will continue to serve as Whole-time Director and Chief Financial Officer of Sanofi India.
Strategic Vision for India
In his new role, Deepak Arora will be responsible for shaping and executing Sanofi India’s strategic vision in line with its global roadmap. He will focus on accelerating innovation, enhancing organizational agility, and driving operational excellence across all business functions. Arora will also play a pivotal role in promoting Sanofi’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) culture across the organization.

Arora brings over three decades of experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, having worked across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His expertise spans sales, marketing, commercial operations, and general management, with a proven track record in business expansion and sustainable growth.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Botany and Zoology from the University of Lucknow and an MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Arora has been appointed as Managing Director for a term of three years, starting October 27, 2025.
