P&G India has announced the appointment of Kumar Venkatasubramanian as CEO, effective May 1, 2024. The current CEO, LV Vaidyanathan, will depart from the company after 28 years of service to pursue other personal interests.
Venkatasubramanian has been instrumental in driving P&G India’s growth in various capacities throughout his career. Prior to his role as CEO of P&G Australia, he served as the head of sales for P&G India, as stated by the company.
An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, Venkatasubramanian joined P&G’s sales team in India straight out of campus in 2000. With nearly 24 years of experience, a significant portion of which has been in India, he has held various roles in the Sales function.
Currently, he leads P&G’s business in Australia and New Zealand as CEO, where he has been credited with guiding the team to achieve record metrics through category growth and robust retailer partnerships.
Venkatasubramanian is a staunch advocate for Equality and Inclusion, and during his tenure, several programs were expanded to make a significant impact on employees and the community. Notably, P&G ANZ’s largest-ever corporate partnership with the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras was initiated under his leadership, the statement mentioned.
Meanwhile, on March 18, P&G shares were trading 2.64 percent higher at Rs 16,170.60 apiece on the BSE around 1 pm.
