The National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced a reduction in the lot size for trading derivatives contracts linked to the Nifty 50 index, slashing it from 50 to 25. In a circular issued on Tuesday, April 2, the NSE stated that the lot size for Nifty 50 contracts has been halved.
Similarly, the lot sizes for derivatives contracts of Nifty Financial Services (FINNIFTY) and Nifty Midcap Select (MIDCPNIFTY) have been decreased from 40 to 25 and from 75 to 50, respectively. However, the lot size for contracts of Nifty Bank (BANKNIFTY) remains unchanged at 15.
