“After months of diplomatic tension, Maldives expresses gratitude to India for extending essential commodities import quota for 2024-2025.”
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Moosa Zameer, conveyed thanks via social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on behalf of the nation.
“I extend sincere thanks to EAM Dr. S Jaishankar and the Indian Government for renewing the import quota, enabling Maldives to access essential commodities from India for 2024-2025,” he stated.
“This gesture underscores our enduring friendship and commitment to enhancing bilateral trade and commerce,” he emphasized.
In response, India’s External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, affirmed India’s dedication to its “neighborhood first” and “SAGAR policies” via X.
