Promoters and early backers of Lenskart Solutions are set to reap significant rewards as the eyewear retailer gears up for its much-awaited public debut. The company has fixed its IPO price band at ₹382–₹402 per share, valuing Lenskart at approximately ₹69,676 crore at the upper end.
At this valuation, co-founder and CEO Peyush Bansal’s 173.2 million shares — acquired at an average price of ₹18.6 per share — are now worth about ₹6,964 crore, giving him a 10.28% stake. His investment, previously valued around ₹323 crore, has grown nearly 20 times.
Neha Bansal, co-founder and Executive Director overseeing global merchandising, holds 128.3 million shares purchased at ₹7.6 each. Her 7.6% stake, earlier valued at ₹98 crore, is now worth ₹5,157 crore, marking gains of over 5,100%.
Other co-founders Amit Chaudhary and Sumeet Kapahi are also set for impressive windfalls. Each holds around 16 million shares bought at roughly ₹8.1, now valued at more than ₹650 crore, up nearly 4,900% from ₹13 crore earlier.
Among institutional investors, Kedaara Capital’s 89 million shares (4.81% stake), purchased at ₹75 apiece, have appreciated from ₹668 crore to ₹3,580 crore — a 435% jump.
Temasek, via MacRitchie Investments Pte, owns 81.9 million shares bought at ₹97.75 each, now valued at ₹3,293 crore, up 311%.
SoftBank Vision Fund II, through SVF II Lightbulb (Cayman), remains the largest institutional stakeholder with 253.5 million shares (15.3% holding). Acquired at ₹74.26 per share, its investment has grown from ₹1,882 crore to ₹10,188 crore, delivering a 442% return.
KKR, via Birdseye View Holdings II Pte, holds 37.1 million shares purchased at ₹163.64, now worth ₹1,491 crore, a 145% gain. Bay Capital Holdings’ 18.3 million shares, bought at ₹161.28, have risen from ₹296 crore to ₹738 crore, a 149% return.
PremjiInvest’s PI Opportunities Fund II stands out with one of the most remarkable outcomes — 86.5 million shares purchased at ₹24, now worth ₹3,475 crore, translating to a 1,565% gain.
Other notable investors include Alpha Wave Ventures (3.9% stake valued at ₹2,661 crore), Schroders Capital (1.1% worth ₹766 crore), and Chiratae Trust (0.2% worth ₹164 crore).
The Lenskart IPO opens for subscription on October 31, following the anchor book on October 30. The issue will close on November 4, with allotment on November 6, and listing on BSE and NSE expected on November 10.
