IT major Infosys is preparing to roll out a major hiring drive for fresh engineering and computer science graduates from the 2025 batch, offering significantly higher salary packages that go up to ₹21 lakh per annum, according to social media posts reviewed by Moneycontrol.
The Bengaluru-based software giant is expected to begin an off-campus recruitment drive soon, alongside its regular campus hiring, as it looks to strengthen its talent pool in line with its AI-first strategy.
Roles on Offer
Infosys will recruit candidates for entry-level technology positions, primarily for the roles of Specialist Programmer (trainee) across multiple levels (L1 to L3) and Digital Specialist Engineer (trainee). The company is expanding opportunities particularly in specialist programming roles that require deeper technical expertise.
Infosys Group Chief Human Resources Officer Shaji Mathew has indicated that the company is focusing on building advanced AI capabilities across its service offerings, which makes attracting highly skilled fresh talent a priority, along with upskilling its existing workforce.
Salary Structure
The salary packages offered to 2025 graduates mark a sharp increase compared to traditional fresher pay in the IT sector:
- Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee): ₹21 lakh per annum
- Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee): ₹16 lakh per annum
- Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee): ₹11 lakh per annum
- Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee): ₹7 lakh per annum
With these packages, Infosys is positioning itself among the top IT employers for fresh graduates, at a time when entry-level salaries in the sector have often been criticised for remaining stagnant.
Eligibility Criteria
The recruitment drive is open to candidates holding BE, BTech, ME, MTech, and MCA degrees. Graduates with integrated MSc degrees in computer science or IT are also eligible, along with select candidates from circuit branches such as Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE).
Industry Context
The move reflects a broader shift within the Indian IT industry, where the rise of artificial intelligence and advanced digital technologies is pushing companies to compete aggressively for high-quality talent. As demand grows for specialised skills, firms like Infosys appear willing to offer premium compensation to attract and retain the next generation of tech professionals.
