Textile stocks in India tumbled on Thursday as the additional 25% US tariffs on Indian imports came into effect, hitting export-oriented companies the hardest.
Major movers included:
- KPR Mill
- Trident
- Vardhman Textiles
- Arvind
- Welspun Living
- Gokaldas Exports
- Pearl Global Industries
All these stocks fell over 2% in early trade.
The tariffs, signed by US President Donald Trump, raised total duties on Indian goods, including textiles and apparel, to 50%, effective August 27, 2025. Exporters are now bracing for the impact on shipments to the US.
