The Ministry of Railways announced on August 21, 2025, that Indian Railways will operate 380 Ganpati Special train trips this year, covering popular destinations such as Udupi, Kolad, and various locations across the Konkan region. This marks the highest-ever number of Ganpati special trips, up from 358 in 2024.
Railway Zonal Operations:
- Central Railway: 296 trips to meet heavy festive travel demand in Maharashtra and Konkan.
- Western Railway: 56 trips.
- Konkan Railway (KRCL): 6 trips.
- South Western Railway: 22 trips.
Ganpati Special Train Routes:
Trains will run across Konkan Railway stations, including Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Veer, Sape, Karanjadi, Chiplun, Khed, Sawarda, Rajapur Road, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Udupi, Kundapura, Karwar, Kumta, and Murdeshwar, among others.
The Ganpati Puja celebrations are scheduled from 27 August to 6 September 2025, with services starting from 11 August 2025 and increasing progressively as the festival approaches.
