Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi, celebrates Lord Ganesha, the god of wisdom, prosperity, and remover of obstacles. Devotees across Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and other states prepare to welcome the festival with great fervor.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 will be observed on Wednesday, 27 August, according to Drikpanchang. The ten-day festival, Ganeshotsav, will conclude on Anant Chaturdashi (Ganesh Visarjan) on Saturday, 6 September 2025, when idols of Lord Ganesha are immersed in rivers, lakes, or the sea amid grand processions.
