In Bihar’s Khagaria district on Monday morning, a collision between a jeep and a tractor resulted in the tragic deaths of nine individuals, including three children, according to police reports.
The incident occurred around 6:30 am near a petrol pump on National Highway 31 in the Pasraha area, with six others sustaining injuries, as per PTI citing police sources.
Authorities stated that the occupants of the jeep were returning from a wedding when the accident transpired, noting that the tractor involved was overloaded at the time.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to a nearby health center for medical treatment, while the deceased victims were identified as Gautam Thakur (32), Monu Kumar (7), Aman Kumar (25), Bunty Kumar, Anshu Kumar (23), Paltu Thakur (50), Dilo Kimar (10), Prakash Singh, and Dharmendra Sharma, all of whom were traveling in the jeep, confirmed the police.
Superintendent of Police Chandan Kushwaha stated, “An investigation is currently underway, and the bodies will be subjected to post-mortem examinations.”
