A Delhi court issued directives to AAP leader Sanjay Singh on Wednesday, instructing him not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses in the Excise “scam” case.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja issued these directives before granting Singh release from Tihar central jail, following bail granted to him by the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Additionally, the judge ordered Singh to surrender his passport, provide details of his travel plans before leaving the National Capital Region (NCR), and maintain his phone’s location tracking.
During the brief hearing, Singh’s legal representative informed the court that the politician’s wife would serve as surety for him in the matter.
“I (Singh) am a Member of Parliament. There is no risk of fleeing,” the counsel assured the court. Consequently, the judge mandated that Singh submit a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and one surety of the same amount.
