On Friday, the Congress party unveiled its manifesto titled “Nyay Patra” for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. P. Chidambaram emphasized that the overarching theme of the Congress manifesto is “justice.” There are three powerful words in the manifesto–“work” “wealth” and welfare”, he added.
The former finance minister launched a veiled attack against the BJP government by saying, “Every aspect of justice has been threatened, weakened in the last 10 years, especially in the last five years”.
The long-standing political party has pledged to provide 10% reservation in jobs and educational institutions for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) across all castes and communities without bias, should it come to power in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Moreover, the Congress manifesto outlines plans to support state governments in setting up a Government Community College in every tehsil/taluk for students who have completed Class 12. In a bid to enhance employment opportunities for the youth, Congress has committed to offering a diverse array of degrees/diplomas through these “community colleges”.
