The Congress party has revealed its roster of 40 star campaigners for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tripura. Among the notable figures listed are party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Additionally, leaders such as Supriya Shrinate, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Alka Lamba have been enlisted to bolster the party’s efforts to garner voter support.

The grand old party recently launched its manifesto, titled ‘Nyay Patra,’ for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi. The manifesto focuses on the ‘Paanch Nyay’ or ‘five pillars of justice,’ which include ‘Yuva Nyay,’ ‘Naari Nyay,’ ‘Kisaan Nyay,’ ‘Shramik Nyay,’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay.’
Key Highlights from the Congress Manifesto ‘Nyay Patra’:
- Pledges to fill approximately 30 lakh job vacancies in sanctioned posts across various levels in the central government.
- Adopts the Rajasthan model of cashless insurance, offering up to Rs 25 lakh for universal healthcare.
- Commits to providing legal guarantees for Minimum Support Price (MSP) as per the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations.
- Ensures minorities’ freedom of choice in matters of dress, food, language, and personal laws, with a focus on reforming personal laws through community participation and consent.
- Proposes a nationwide socio-economic and caste Census to review caste dynamics and socio-economic conditions, along with raising the cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities.
