The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed certain Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations that were earlier scheduled to be held on March 3, 2026, citing administrative reasons. The board has released a revised schedule, with the affected papers moved to later dates.
Which CBSE exams have been rescheduled?
For Class 10, examinations in the following subjects will now be conducted on March 11, 2026: Tibetan, German, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Bhoti, Bodo, Tangkhul, Japanese, Bhutia, Spanish, Kashmiri, Mizo, Bahasa Melayu, and Elements of Book Keeping and Accountancy.
For Class 12, the Legal Studies paper has been postponed from March 3 to April 10, 2026.
Reason for the change
In a circular dated December 29, 2025, CBSE Controller of Examinations Dr Sanyam Bhardwaj informed principals of CBSE-affiliated schools that the exams were rescheduled due to administrative reasons.
“The examinations of the subjects for Class 10 and Class 12, which were earlier scheduled on 03 March 2026, have been rescheduled due to administrative reasons. All other examination dates remain unchanged,” the circular stated.

CBSE has directed schools to inform students and parents about the revised schedule and update their internal date sheets accordingly. The board also confirmed that the revised exam dates will be reflected on students’ admit cards.
Students are advised to carefully review the updated timetable and plan their preparation as per the revised dates.
