Karnataka Valmiki Corporation Scam: In a significant development in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation scam, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has seized 16 kg of gold and Rs 2.5 crore from two suspects. According to top SIT sources, a recent raid uncovered 15 kg of gold at Satyanarayana Varma’s residence. Varma admitted that he had used funds from the scam to purchase an ultra-luxury Lamborghini. Ace investor Akash Bhansali boosted his stake in One 97 Communications to 1.21% during the quarter ending in June, as per BSE shareholding data. On July 12, HCL Technologies (HCLTech) reported a 20% increase in its consolidated net profit for Q1FY25, reaching Rs 4,257 crore compared to Rs 3,534 crore in the previous year. On Friday, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (Ireda) reported a net profit growth of over 30 percent, reaching Rs 383.69 crore for the June quarter, primarily due to higher revenues. In a company statement, Ireda noted a Profit After Tax of Rs 383.69 crore in Q1, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 30.25 percent. India’s forex reserves surged by USD 5.158 billion to USD 657.155 billion during the week ending July 5, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday. This increase follows two consecutive weeks of decline, where the reserves dropped by USD 1.713 billion to USD 651.997 billion for the week ending June 28. Previously, the reserves had reached an all-time high of USD 655.817 billion on June 7 this year.
