Delhi Minister Atishi, a day after receiving a notice from the Election Commission, urged the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday to disclose the actions taken against BJP leaders regarding alleged money laundering cases.
Speaking at a press briefing, the senior AAP leader criticized the Election Commission, alleging that it operates under the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The EC had issued a notice to Atishi following her claims that the BJP had approached her with an ultimatum to either join the party or face arrest by the Enforcement Directorate within a month.
Atishi questioned the ED’s actions against AAP leaders like Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, and Arvind Kejriwal, who were arrested based on suspicions despite no evidence of a money trail. She demanded to know why similar actions were not taken against BJP leaders, especially considering allegations of money laundering in the Delhi excise policy scam. The AAP had previously urged the ED to initiate legal proceedings against the BJP, asserting that the money trail led to the saffron party.
During her address, Atishi accused the BJP of utilizing central agencies like the CBI, ED, and now the Election Commission to target opposition leaders. She called on the BJP to refrain from using these agencies as tools for political agendas and instead face the AAP directly in elections.
