Arvind Kejriwal Unveils ‘Kejriwal ki Guarantee’ Assurances, Including Termination of Agniveer Scheme: 10 Key Initiatives Outlined

Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP National Convener, has unveiled a series of assurances dubbed ‘Kejriwal ki Guarantee,’ which includes the cessation of the contentious Agniveer scheme. Speaking before a sizable audience, Kejriwal delineated 10 pivotal initiatives that his administration aims to promptly implement.

In his address, Kejriwal made several assertive pledges aimed at tackling national security and local governance challenges. He strongly criticized the central government’s Agniveer scheme, which entails the recruitment of soldiers on a contractual basis, arguing that it compromises the professionalism and morale of the armed forces, and urged the Centre to terminate it immediately.

1. 24-Hour Electricity Supply: “Our government will ensure uninterrupted electricity supply nationwide and provide 200 units of free electricity to economically disadvantaged households across the country,” Kejriwal pledged.
2. Education Reform: Kejriwal committed to overhauling the education system, stating, “We will elevate government schools to outshine private institutions in quality, offering free education to every child born in the country.”
3. Healthcare Enhancement: He outlined plans for expanding healthcare services: “We will establish Mohalla clinics in every village and locality and upgrade district hospitals to multi-speciality facilities for comprehensive healthcare access.”
4. National Security: Kejriwal emphasized the need to bolster security, declaring, “We will grant full autonomy to the army to ‘reclaim land from China’ and pursue diplomatic efforts for territorial integrity.”
5. Agniveer Scheme Termination: He asserted the need for military recruitment reforms: “We will halt the Agniveer scheme and regularize all enrolled personnel into permanent positions, abolishing the contractual system and ensuring adequate funds for the army.”
6. Farmers’ Welfare: “Provide fair compensation for crops based on the Swaminathan report to ensure farmers lead dignified lives,” Kejriwal stated, focusing on agricultural reforms.
7. Delhi Statehood: He reiterated a significant local promise: “Our government will grant full statehood to Delhi, a longstanding demand of its residents.”
8. Employment Generation: Addressing unemployment, the AAP chief said, “The INDIA bloc government will generate 2 crore new jobs annually to address unemployment concerns.”
