Jailed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is spending his time in Tihar prison engaging in activities such as meditation, yoga, writing, and reading books. Kejriwal, remanded by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court in a judicial custody related to an excise policy-linked money laundering case, follows a routine that includes waking up early morning, practicing yoga, and cleaning his 14×8 feet cell located in general ward number 3 of jail number 2 of Tihar. He typically starts his day with a breakfast of two bread slices and tea, then takes walks around the premises, as reported by The Print.
Although adjusting to life in jail, Kejriwal is monitored by senior resident doctors who check his blood pressure, weight, and sugar level twice a day. Despite previous allegations by Delhi Minister Atishi that he had lost 4.5 kg since his arrest, a prison official stated that Kejriwal’s health is stable, with no significant weight loss.
In his spare time, Kejriwal reads books provided to him in jail, including “How Prime Ministers Decide” and the Hindu epics “Ramayana” and “Mahabharata.” For cleaning his cell, he uses a bucket, broom, and piece of cloth. Due to security reasons, he is not permitted to interact with other inmates, but he can take walks outside his cell. Additionally, he spends time watching television channels while standing.
