Amul has reduced prices on more than 700 product packs, including butter, ghee, cheese, ice cream, and frozen snacks, effective September 22, 2025. The price revision follows the recent GST rate cut, with GCMMF, the cooperative that markets Amul products, passing on the benefits entirely to consumers.
Some key price changes include:
- Butter: 100g pack down from Rs 62 to Rs 58; 500g pack from Rs 305 to Rs 285.
- Ghee: 1-litre carton reduced by Rs 40 to Rs 610; 5-litre tin by Rs 200 to Rs 3,075.
- Milk: Amul Taaza Toned Milk (1L) from Rs 77 to Rs 75; Amul Gold (1L) from Rs 83 to Rs 80.
- Cheese & Paneer: Frozen paneer (200g) now Rs 95 (was Rs 99); processed cheese 1kg block down by Rs 30 to Rs 545.
- Ice Cream: Tub Vanilla Magic (1L) down from Rs 195 to Rs 135; Kulfi Punjabi (60ml) from Rs 15 to Rs 10; premium Duetz Gold Mango (60ml) down by Rs 25.
- Bakery & Chocolates: Amul Butter Cookies (200g) reduced to Rs 65; Amul Dark Chocolate (150g) from Rs 200 to Rs 180; Chocominis 250g tub cut to Rs 400.
- Frozen Snacks: Amul French Fries (1.25kg) down from Rs 405 to Rs 365.
GCMMF noted that the price cuts aim to boost consumption of dairy products, especially ice cream, butter, and cheese, as per capita consumption remains low in India. The move is also expected to increase demand and drive turnover for the cooperative, which is owned by 36 lakh farmers.
Earlier, Mother Dairy had also announced price reductions across its range starting September 22.
