Bengaluru-based Aequs Limited (formerly Aequs Private Limited) has informed stock exchanges that the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka has set aside an Income Tax demand of ₹77.96 crore for the financial year 2017-18 (Assessment Year 2018-19).
The demand had been raised by the National Faceless Assessment Centre under Section 143(3) of the Income Tax Act. Aequs had challenged the order by filing a writ petition before the High Court in October 2021. The court has now allowed the appeal, effectively nullifying the tax demand.
Ravi Mallikarjun Hugar, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Aequs, confirmed the development in a filing with the BSE (Scrip Code: 544634) and NSE (Symbol: AEQUS) on December 24, 2025.
This ruling comes shortly after the company’s Red Herring Prospectus disclosure dated November 26, 2025, reinforcing investor confidence and corporate governance transparency.
Aequs Limited, headquartered in Bengaluru with operations in Belagavi, continues to focus on its engineering and manufacturing services while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
