Adani Total Gas, the joint venture between the Adani Group and France’s TotalEnergies, on Friday, January 2, 2026, announced a reduction in compressed natural gas (CNG) and domestic piped natural gas (PNG) prices across several markets in India, following a major overhaul of pipeline tariffs by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).
According to a company statement cited by news agency PTI, Adani Total Gas has reduced CNG and PNG prices by up to ₹4, a move aimed at passing on the benefits of lower gas transportation costs directly to consumers. The price cut comes after PNGRB revised its tariff structure to streamline pipeline charges and reduce input costs for city gas distribution companies.
The tariff reset is expected to provide relief to households using piped cooking gas as well as motorists relying on CNG, while also supporting wider adoption of cleaner fuels.
State-wise price cuts
The reduction in prices varies across regions:
- Gujarat:
- CNG down by ₹0.50–₹1.90 per kg
- Domestic PNG down by up to ₹1.10 per standard cubic metre

Besides Adani Total Gas, other city gas distributors such as GAIL, Indraprastha Gas (IGL) and Think Gas have also announced price cuts following the PNGRB’s tariff revision.
PNGRB tariff overhaul
Under the new framework, PNGRB has collapsed three gas transportation zones into two and introduced a uniform Zone-1 tariff of ₹54 per million British thermal unit (mmBtu), excluding taxes, for domestic PNG and CNG-Transport segments across the country. The move is aimed at simplifying tariff structures and ensuring more equitable pricing.
Welcoming the reform, Suresh P. Manglani, Executive Director and CEO of Adani Total Gas, said the initiative would directly benefit millions of consumers and encourage a shift towards cleaner fuels in both households and the transportation sector, as per the PTI report.
Adani Total Gas currently operates in 53 geographical areas, supplies piped natural gas to over 1.2 million households, and runs nearly 1,100 CNG stations across India.
